Hello! Hope everyone has been having a great week.

1. She loves when you spell her name. I will hold her close and say "Eeeee" "Emmm" "Emmm" "Aaaaa" in a drawn out way and she squeals.

2. She can pull herself up into a standing position pretty quickly. She does it on the ottoman, coffee table and activity table. She can also take a few steps to pull herself closer to the item she is holding onto. I cant believe how big she is getting!

3. She can feed herself puffs. I put one or two on her tray and she picks them up and puts them in her mouth. She has a hard time letting go of them each time but she can do it.

Josh in "baby jail" AKA the Superyard

1. He is an official crawler and is trying to pull up on stuff, too. I think he prefers sitting over crawling though because he will crawl for a little and then pull himself into a sitting position and look around.

2. He is so vocal. He is saying "Da-da-da-da" all the time. And if he is not saying it, he is moving his mouth like he has peanut butter in it, trying to get his voice to form sounds. Its so cute!

3. He can also feed himself puffs but he prefers to smash them with his hand so that they stick and then lifting up his hand and looking amazed because he does not know where the puff went. Such a boy!

Love, love, love these kids. They are changing every single day. Can't wait to see what the next week is like.

Oh and now they "play" together, its pretty funny

First trip to the playground

We had our first trip to the playground and first play date yesterday. My friend from work, Pearl, has two girls Isabella (4.5) and Serena (4 months) and we got to meet them at the park. Emma and Josh had fun looking at all the new things and crawling in the grass. Both of them tried to eat a fist full of it, of course. Neither of them liked swinging too much but both of them loved Serena and Bella. We had such a nice day!

TIDWTFT Video Version

You know those cute bear pictures on the left of my blog? Well they are sometimes painful to take. Check out this video to get a glimpse into one of our photo sessions.

After seeing that, are you amazed we even get any pictures? I am!

8 months

The changes from 7 to 8 months have been crazy. Emma and Joshua are really growing up! They are doing a lot of the same things and then some different. I will go through the same things first:

1. They have become great eaters. They are down to 4 bottles a day, with 8-9 oz in each bottle. Then they get a breakfast and a dinner.

2. Since they each have teeth (Josh 3 and almost the other top one and Emma has two) they get their teeth "brushed" a couple times a week with one of those fingertip baby tooth brushes.

3. Both of them lift up their arms to be picked up but in different ways. Josh lifts his out like an airplane and Emma lifts hers up.

4. They go down to sleep at 7:30 and wake up at 6:30. They are still on 3 naps a day but Josh has been dropping the 5:00PM "cat nap" I can't always get him to take that one.

1. She is so persistent. If she wants to crawl onto something or grab an item from the table, she does not give up until she gets it. It took her many times but she has learned to pull herself up and over the step from our family to living room. And now she can do it in one swift motion.

2. She knows how to sit but doesn't like to do it because she is too interested in crawling. I have seen her pull herself into a sitting position but not often.

3. She has a big attachment to me right now and the second I walk into my in-laws house to pick her up, she lunges towards me.

4. She is wearing 6-9 month clothes from Children's Place and some 9 month Carters clothes. The dresses fit her good length wise but the pants and shirts are still a bit wide on her. She is still in size 3 diapers.

1. He has started doing the inch worm crawl but does not do it all the time. I know he is strong enough to crawl but he does not seem to have a huge interest in it yet.

2. He is great at sitting and can pull himself into a sitting position very easily. He looks like such a big boy when he sits and he can play like that for a long time.

3. He said "da-da" last night for the first time. He said it to me the first time and then said it again when Dan came home. It was so cute!

4. He is also wearing 6-9 month and 9 month clothes but can fit into 6-12 month Gymboree, too. He is in size 3 diapers but I am going to try a size 4, just to see if its too big. The size 3 looks a little short on Josh.

I thank God every single day for the opportunity to be a mom. Its tiring, its exhausting and its the most rewarding experience of my life.

Signs of growing up

Just a few things going on over here that remind me that my babies are getting bigger.

1. We lowered the cribs this weekend. Emma was just about ready to pull herself up out of hers and its just a matter of time before Josh is ready, too.

2. I sold my first baby item this weekend. I was looking on Craigslist and someone wanted to buy a Lilac Bumbo. Since I have one and we are done using them, I sold it to her. I figured that if we did have another baby, we could always use the blue one. It did make me sad to part with my first baby item though.

3. I put a piece of watermelon by both Emma and Josh's mouths and they bit of a small little piece, chewed it and swallowed it. And then they wanted more. My babies can bite of a piece of food. What happened to struggling to get them to eat pureed apples?

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

First Video

Dan and I have been taking videos of Emma and Josh since they were born but have not really done anything with them. Yesterday, I figured out how to upload them to YouTube (yes, almost 8 months later) so I am posting the very first video we took. Ignore the poor quality and my goofy voice- this is probably 45 minutes after Josh was born. Look how small they both are! In the video, I am holding Josh and Emma is the one sleeping.

Here is my weekly post of Things I Don't Want To Forget. As you can see, its been another crazy week so I have not had time to post much. Hoping to do better next week.

At the lake

Sitting up

1. He loves to play ball. This consists of me pretending to throw a ball to him in a crazy way and then placing it in his hands while he laughs like crazy. He then waves the ball around and pats it until I take it from his hands and say "throw it back to mama!" He then gives it to me and waits for me to "throw" it to him again. So precious!

2. He is sitting up on his own and can even get into a sitting position. He looks like such a big boy when he sits up.

3. Josh has what Dan and I call a "death grip" on just about anything you put in his hand. The other day, he grabbed the spoon from me while I was feeding him and he would.not.let.go. I was pulling so hard to get it back and he would not budge. He also did the same thing with the umbrella the other week when we went to church.

In her crib

She pulls her self up on stuff, too!

1. She is crawling all over the place, its totally time to babyproof! And if I leave the room to go to the bedroom, she will actually crawl down the hall after me. Its so cute!

2. She has gotten so vocal. Josh used to be the one making all the noise but now Emma has learned to chime in. She makes a "Ba, Ba, Ba" sound a lot. Oh and sometimes she just screams.

3. Emma's eyes are the most interesting color. Josh's have turned completely brown but Emma's are a combo between blue with some green mixed in and then just a hint of a tan color. They are very pretty but leave me at a loss of what color she will end up with. I have Brown and Dan has green so who knows!

Hope everyone is having a good week!

TIDWTFT, errr, Friday

I didn't forget about TIDWTFT, I just ran out of time yesterday. Between work and two teething babies, it was kind of a rough day. But here goes!

1. I have started giving them puffs and yogurt melts and they love them. They can almost pick them up and put them in their mouth but most of the time, I have to put them in their mouth.

1. She seems to be pretty clingy with me now. She cries when I leave the room and she is always holding out her arms to me. Once I hold her, she puts her little head on my shoulder or stares intently at my face. So sweet!

2. She is already working on her second tooth, the one right next to the first. She has been pretty upset about it, especially at night. I've had to put her in the pack n' play in our living room two nights this week because she cries at night and wakes up Josh.

1. He looks like he is trying to crawl. He can get up onto all fours but once he is there, he just looks around and then falls. Im sure crawling is just around the corner for him.

2. He is working on his fourth tooth, I can't believe it! He seems to be a bit better with handling the pain from teething but he has been kind of cranky, too.

No pictures right now. I have some new ones on the camera and we plan to take more this weekend so I will do a post on Sunday with pictures. TGIF!

Can't nobody hold me down

Our little Emma is officially on the move and into everything. EVERYTHING. Here is a sequence of pictures I took last night. She basically pulled herself into a standing position on the arm of the couch and tried to nosedive off the side of the couch in an attempt to get into a basket of bibs.

Emma on her way to the edge of the couch...

...and she spots the bibs...

...and reaches over...

...before daddy has to stop her!

So cute!

She also got her first tooth on Thursday. Its still just a little pointy, white mark on her gum but its a tooth! Pretty cool.

I am headed back to work tomorrow after being off for a week. My heart actually hurts as much as it did when I went back after maternity leave. I really enjoyed being off for an entire week with Emma and Josh.

Hope everyone enjoys their week!
