Playground fun

Last weekend, we took Emma and Joshua to a playground near us. They loved it! They climbed all over the wood castle and even went down the slide. Here are a few pictures from the day:

Both:

1. Emma and Josh are turning into pretty good eaters. We had a lot of rough patches once we switched to all bottles but now they do great. They still have 3 bottles per day (24 oz of formula) but they also eat 3 meals. This week, they tried two new things- Fish and green peppers. They liked both!

Emma

1. She has been doing a lot of fake crying. (well, a lot of real crying too!) But she will put her little lip out, and sob but then look at me like she is saying "what are you going to dooooo about it?" Its pretty funny.

Josh

1. He loves to throw any and all items from his high chair. Food, toys, sippy cups, anything. Guess who ends up crawling all over the floor to pick them up?

I am excited for Halloween this weekend. We will take a bunch of pictures of Emma and Josh dressed up so we can reveal their costumes. Hope everyone is getting ready for a great weekend!

Baby Steppin'

Emma took a couple steps yesterday! I sat a few feet from her as she stood at the ottoman and she took one step, two steps and then fell into my arms. It was so precious. After she did that, I decided to let her try a push walker and she did great with it. We took a video and of course once the camera was rolling, she didn't do that great with the walker but you can get the idea. And Josh? I tried to get him to take a step but he looked at me, looked at the ottoman, looked at me and then plopped down and crawled to me. Maybe someday soon :)

Oh and my outfit and hair in the video? Please disregard. I played Stay-at-home-mommy with Emma and Josh yesterday and that's as good as it gets when Im home!

TIDWTFT

The thing I don't want to forget today about Emma and Josh is not a specific thing. Its more like a feeling. I don't want to forget how I feel right now. Its a mix of exhaustion, excitement, amazement and did exhaustion all rolled into one.

Exhaustion because of all the things I am doing- between Emma and Josh, work and the rest of my life, I am tired! Excitement because of all the fun holidays coming up. I can't wait to watch E&J as they get to experience the joy and the love that comes from the holiday time. I am also planning special things for them around the holidays and their birthday. And Amazement because I just can't believe how much they have changed and grown in the past year. They amaze me every day with the new things they learn and just how sweet and funny they are.

Things aren't always easy and I often need an extra cup of coffee but its worth every single second.

10 months

Emma and Josh are 2 short months away from their first birthday, I can't believe it. I love seeing them change and I can't wait to see what they'll do next but it seems like its going so quick.

Emma:

1. She is a lot shyer than Josh, especially around new people. She does eventually warm up to people but it just takes her a bit longer.

2. She is really into picking things up with her little pincher fingers but if I put down a piece of food thats too big for her, she will look at it and then put it back down. As soon as I make it smaller, she will pick it back up.

3. Emma is also a "mama's girl" (atleast for now!) and although I want her to love everyone else too, I would be lying if I said it doesn't fill my heart with love to see that little girl crawl towards me to be picked up.

Joshua:

1. He is a jokester. He is always bobbing his head around in laughter and he likes to dance too.

2. He is also very patient and I feel like he understands when I tell him "Josh, I need to change Emma and then I will change you" He will sit back down in his crib or just watch me intently until its his turn

3. Josh eats differently than Emma. He tends to load as much food into his hand by swiping it across the tray and then shoves it into his mouth, although not much makes it in! Such a boy.

Both:

1. They are down to 3 bottles per day and 3 solid feedings. Their schedule looks like this:

6:30 Wake

6:45 Breakfast (oatmeal and fruit)

8:00 8 oz bottle

8:30-10:00 Nap

12:00 8 oz bottle

12:30-2:00 Nap

2:30 Snack of 4 oz fruit and puffs, yogurt melts, etc

5:00 Dinner (anything from chicken, cheese, english muffin, noodles, carrots, green beans, etc)

6:30 Bottle

7:00-7:30 Bed

- They are both big fans of the sippy cup and love to hold it and drink out of it. I think I will try to switch their noon bottle to a sippy cup soon.

- They are in size 9 or 12 month clothes but 12 month is still pretty big on both of them, mostly the pants. Josh did wear an 18 month shirt the other day and it fit fine. But then Emma wore a 6-12 month sweater and that fit fine, too. Go figure. They both wear size 3 diapers and then size 4 at night.

- No walking yet but tons of cruising. They also babble and love to scream but Josh does both more than Emma.

Hope everyone has a great week!

You are the hope I cherish You are the care of a prayer I love Oh my darling believe in me In me

TIDWTFTish

This week, Emma and Joshua have really started to interact with one another more and will also play together on the floor for quite some time. They steal toys, laugh at each other, crawl after one another and it is easily the cutest thing I have every seen.

Emma:

She is the most determined baby I have ever met. If she wants to get to something or reach an object, she finds a way to do it. This week, she tried and tried to find a way to get down the one step to our living room and she tried 10 different ways until she figured it out. She is also starting to climb onto toys to get onto other toys and was trying to fit her foot into the rung of the Super Yard.

Josh:

He is such a silly baby. This week, I was crawling on the kitchen floor to pick up food and sippy cups they had dropped and Josh was laughing hysterically because he thought I was hiding from him. When I would peak my head up, he would squeal with laughter. He also has the best smile- its so big and his whole face lights up when he smiles.

More Pumpkins

Still learning the camera and got more pumpkin pictures yesterday

Oh and Josh puked in the middle of both photo sessions this week. Nope, he is not sick. He keeps eating stuff off the ground! Yesterday, he ate a huge leaf before I could stop him and on Saturday, he ate a mum. Yes, a flower. I didn't even see him until he barfed it into my hand. So gross!

If you can, vote for me :)

TIDWTFT

No pictures this week but I will post some soon because we just got a new camera- A Canon Rebel T21 ::::Swoon:::: I love it already!

Both:

1. They love to carry toys and remotes over to the wood floor and throw them to listen to the sound they make. They scrunch up their face in anticipation of the sound.

2. We dropped a bottle this week so we are down to 3 8 OZ bottles and 3 solid meals per day. They are doing great with it and still love noodles, cooked carrots, cooked apples and cheerios.

3. They have both stood up and let go of whatever they were holding on to but can't do it for long

4. They love Baby Einstein, especially the Baby Moves, one. Both laugh at the babies on the screen.

Emma:

1. She loves to be held by me and if she bumps her head or falls down, she crawls right to me and wants to be held.

Josh:

1. He loves when Dan hides on the side of the bed and then sticks his head back up. Josh will squeal with laughter and then bury his head in the pillow, like he is trying to hide from him.

We are going to try to go to a pumpkin patch this weekend and get some pictures, wish us luck!

Cuteness Overload

I was just organizing video clips and saw this one I took of Emma and Josh. The beginning is so cute, look at Emma's face when I ask her "How big is Emma?" I dont know why it looks so grainy on the upload but its still precious :)
