Multi-tasking 59/365

I caught Josh riding his little car while trying to hold a doll. He was also holding the teapot on the floor but dropped that because it must have been slowing him down! I dont know if you can see it but he is also holding a little cupcake from Emma's tea set.

Scared 58/365

We have a room in the basement that Emma and Josh are petrified because, well, the furnace is in there. And the sound of the furnace is apparently scary to them. So they stand at the threshold and look and look but they won't go in!

Wheeee! 57/365

Most of Emma and Josh's favorite activities do not involve their toys. Dan put them in the laundry basket and pulled them around and they loved it! Every time he's stop, they'd both protest and squirm until he did it again.

Clearing out 56/365

One of Emma and Josh's favorite activities? Destroying my house

This has been an absolutely dreadful week with work (just really busy, I am working 12 hours a day) so I have not posted since my last TIDWTFT, ugh!

Emma and Josh have been so much fun this week. I feel like they are turning into little people and are learning new things every week. Without a doubt, the best part of my day is the last few hours when I get to be with them.

1. They have learned to identify their noses and belly buttons. If I ask where they are, they point right to them! Josh is also interested in trying to find other peoples' belly buttons.

2. They are getting good at taking commands like "Clap" "Wave Bye-Bye" or "Get Mommy a certain toy"

3. They love to dance and as soon as I put the TV on, they assume I am going to put on the digital cable music station and start dancing. Their dancing, however, looks like a mix between doing the twist and exercise squats.

(I put these photos in my 365 Blog but they are so cute so I am putting them here, too!)

1. She has learned how to burp and rock her baby but she isn't too gentle when she does it. The baby ends up getting a good whack across the back but its still the thought that counts.

1. He is such a goofy little guy. If I even get close to him and pretend to tickle him, he freaks out and starts laughing. He also squeals with laughter and runs away if I tell him "Im going to get you!"

54 and 55/365 Bathing Beauties

Emma and Josh have learned to like the bathtub. Their favorite bath toys? The shampoo bottles, of course!

Belly 53/365

Josh is a huge fan of finding his belly button. And if he is wearing a onesie? He nearly yanks that thing off trying to show you his belly.

"Heyyyy ladies...."

"...Its my belly!"

Stuck 52/365

Josh's new thing is that he likes to get stuck places.Basically, he tries to get behind, under or around things and then he looks at me like "Hellllpppp!" This time, he got behind the basketball hoop. I promise, we didn't leave him there too long.

Mozart 51/365

Dan put both the kids in front of the piano to see what they would do. Josh just slammed on the keys so Dan removed him. But not Emma! She sat nicely, carefully hit each key and then would look at me and Dan and smile. The next Mozart, perhaps?

Rug Ride 50/365

We do this thing where we talk a soft blanket and let Emma and Josh sit on it. We then pull it up and down our hall and it slides over the wood floor and they love it! When we say "its time for a Rug Ride" they scramble towards the blanket, sit down and get ready for the fun!

Cheese 49/365

Emma likes to come after me when I have the camera. When she did it, I was able to catch this close up, albeit off-center, picture of her with her "cheese face" I know its not the greatest picture but this is "so Emma" to me so I am using it.

Well today is Josh and Emma's 14 months Birthday, wow!

1. They love to stick out their tongues. They also love when I do it, too, and they will reach out and touch my tongue and laugh.

2. They are really interested in music and love when we play it on the TV. They also love theme songs to TV shows, especially "The Office" and "Bones" When those come on, they stop what they are doing, look at the TV, and dance.

1. Whenever she sees me, she puts her arms up in the air because she wants me to pick her up. Of course the second I pick her up, she wants to go back down. Go figure!

1. He got his first molar last week. Its weird to see such a big tooth in his mouth. He was not any fussier than usual when it came in but I did notice him rubbing his gums more.

Another month down. Time is flying!

Kitchen Helper 48/365

Emma loves to watch me cook. I always try to put a few kitchen utensils on the tray and they keep her occupied for at least 30 minutes. Enough time for me to throw together some dinner!

Bye Bye, Bottle

Well its official, we no longer have to wash bottles at our house! Emma and Josh are 100% on sippy cups.

It started on Friday night. We decided to go to the grocery store (I know. On a Friday night- so lame!) Anyways, it was 5:00 and Emma and Josh normally have their bottle at 5:30. Instead of bringing bottles to the store, I filled up two sippy cups with milk. Emma and Josh drank the entire cup while we were shopping so when we got home at 6:00, I just gave them some more milk in the sippy and then put then down at 6:30 without a problem.

Last night, we got home from my parent's house at 5:30 and I just gave them a sippy cup instead of a bottle and again, no problems.

So its the end of the bottle era at our house, I can't believe it! My babies are growing up!

"You want a bottle, Emma? Nah, me either!"

Snowbabies 45-46/365

We let Emma and Josh walk in the snow yesterday and once they got used to sliding a bit on the ice, they liked it!

Solutions 44/365

Emma and Josh are still practicing their newest trick which is sticking their fingers down their throats and gagging themselves, sometimes until they puke. My solution? If I catch them doing it once, I remove their hand. If I catch them doing it again, I remove their hand. If I am lucky to catch them a third time before they have puked all over my carpet, I put socks on their hands. Emma? Not a huge fan of this solution!

Aren't I Funny? 43/365

Josh and Emma are always looking at one another and laughing. Apparently this time, Emma didn't think Josh was too funny!

What's this? 42/365

Josh loves pulling and poking at things, especially noses and jewelry!

Grabbing great grandma's necklace...

...and grandpa's nose!

1. They both have discovered their belly buttons and if I say "Where is your belly?!", they lift up their shirts and point!

2. They both love the song "Twinkle, Twinkle" and when I sing it, they both take their hands and open and close them, like little twinkling stars, its precious.

1. She is a climber! She will climb anything to get where she wants. And if I put something to block her? She'll climb that, too!

1. The other day, he was pulling my hair and I said to him "Joshie, you make mommy cry" and I covered my eyes and did a few fake pouts. What did he do? Copied my fake crying with his own silly fake crying. So much for trying to make him feel bad for me!

Mr Serious 40/365

Josh often gives this very serious look- he means business!

M-I-C-K-E-Y 39/365

The one show that Emma does like on TV is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. When I put it on, she leans over the playard to try to touch the TV and she always dances to the theme song.

Birthday with babies

My 32nd birthday was on Friday and yesterday, we had my family over to celebrate. I tried to get a picture with Emma and with Josh but neither of them seemed interested in taking a picture with mommy!

This is the only picture where Josh is not trying to get away from me!

And Emma is also trying to get away from me, too! Both of them prefer to run around the living room like crazy then sit with us.

To share or not to share 38/365

Sometimes Emma and Josh can look at a toy together...

...and sometimes they can't!

Bang, Bang 36 and 37 of 365

Emma and Josh have been enjoying taking a toy and hitting themselves on the head with it. They don't do it hard but they laugh like crazy when they do it!

Book Worm 35/365

Emma loves to "read" and now she loves to listen to this book read to her, too

Ok, before I start, I am desperate. It would appear that Emma and Josh have a major case of early onset baby bulimia because they are CONSTANTLY sticking their fingers down their throats and at least once a day, one of them pukes. At first, it was mildly cute because they laugh when they do it, but if I have to hold one puking child's hands out of their mouth while I try to push the other one from playing in the puke (and why would you play in puke anyways) one more time, I might lose it. Any suggestions?

Onto my TIDWTFT!

1. He is so ticklish. If I tickle him under his arms, he literally snorts with laughter. And if I say "Im going to get you" and point my fingers towards him like I might tickle him, he runs away and laughs.

2. His new word is "car" He says it anytime he sees one of our many little play cars. Or sometimes when he sees any other toy. But he loves to say it!

1. Her hair is getting longer and a few times this week, I have actually had to brush it because she gets major bedhead. The little hairs will stick up all over but after I run a soft brush over the hair, it smooths back down.

2. She loves to give kisses and gives kisses to just about anything- her baby doll, a stuffed animal, Josh, her reflection in the mirror. But when she does it, she makes this noise that sounds like she might take a bite out of you instead of kiss you, its so funny!

Caught with the toys 34/365

Josh's favorite thing to do with the toys is run to the toy box and promptly remove the 6 storage bins from the top and dump them on the ground. This time, I caught him!

Emma and Josh are both into wrestling right now. If I sit on the floor with them, its only a matter of time before one crawls on top of my back and the other one sprawls across my legs. And their big stuffed bear does not stand a chance either! The cutest is when they wrestle with one another. It normally ends with someone crying because someone else is sitting on their head but its cute while it lasts. Here are some pictures for this weekend's wrestling match!
