Its been a fun week at our house. Emma and Josh are so expressive and constantly chattering about what they are doing, its so cute.

1. We were sitting on the bed and he almost fell off so I said "oops!" as I pulled him back on. He thought that was about the funniest thing ever and through his hysterical giggles, kept saying "oops, oops"

1. When I go into their room in the morning, she immediately stands and says "up" until I pick her up. She then puts her head on my shoulder and holds onto me so tight, its such a nice feeling. Oh and she also tries to burp me by patting my back and saying "burp" So funny!

1. They are starting to recognize a few letters. Emma can find "E" and Josh can find "O" and he can also find "S"

2. Their new favorite activity at night is running up and down the hall while screaming "run" They also love if Dan or I join in and run with them.

Vaccuum Kids 272 and 273/365

Emma and Josh love to drop food on the floor and when I ask them to pick it up, they getting down and eating it off the floor. Oh my!

Checking out the food...

...and eating it!

Josh, contemplating what he just did (while Emma continues to eat off the floor)

Emma, obviously excited about her snack

Bus 271/365

As part of his love for trucks, Josh also loves buses. He carries the pink Mega Blocks bus around. He also can hear the school bus outside of our house every morning and yells "bus!" when he hears it. The cutest thing is that when I ask him "who is on the bus?" he says "kids" Its so precious.

Farm 270/365

Emma loves the Fisher Price Little People sets we have. She also likes to:

Drop in the animals...

...Check to see if they are in there...

...and then fish them out!

Wait for me 269/365

As we were walking from the playground to the library, Josh decided he wanted to hold Dan's hand too so he ran to catch up.

More Aunts and Uncles 268/365

Dan's brother Kevin and his wife Bryony came over last night. The kids haven't seen them for a few months so they were a little apprehensive at first but soon warmed up to them. We had a nice time hanging out and Kevin and Bryony enjoyed playing with Emma and Josh.

Love 267/365

Its moments like this that make all the stress of having twins completely worth it.

So Scared 266/365

I mentioned Emma doing "So Scared" and attempted to get a picture of her doing it. Of course, the picture barely captures how funny it is but its a start!

Thursday, September 22, 2011

1. She does this thing that we call "So Scared." If you ask her to do it, she will clench her fists by her face and then tighten her face and shake a little. She looks like she is scared! I don't know where she learned it but its so hysterical when she does it.

1. He loves to say "no" to just about anything you ask him. And he is relentless with it. I asked him about 50 things the other night and he just kept saying "no, no and more no"

1. They love when we do "dot, dot, line, line" on their backs and now they do it to one another. They can say "dot, dot, line, line" and then normally they will blow for the "cool breeze" part.

Love these kids more and more everyday- they are so precious!

Puzzles 265/365

Emma and Josh have started showing an interest in puzzles. Last night after a rather messy dinner (which is why they are both shirtless) we opened a couple of puzzles and let them try. Emma did really good and was able to find and match all the pieces but couldn't always get the pieces into their spots. Josh was able to match the pieces but then got distracted with the truck puzzle and started to "drive" the pieces on the floor. Too funny!

Card 264/365

Dan works for a greeting card company and on occasion, he gets to bring some leftover cards home. Yesterday, he brought home cards that played music and Josh became obsessed with one. The card played the song "Hooked on a feeling" and had two monkeys on it. He would not eat unless he was clutching it AND it was playing the music. Too funny!

Josh 263/365

Josh also had a blast at Harvest Fest...

He watched in amazement as cars AND trucks zoomed past on the main road.

He ran in circles and tried to catch all the big kids running around!

And he "dressed up" as a potato, which he thought was funny (even though he isn't smiling in the picture)

Emma 262/365

I had a lot of pictures from Harvest Day so I thought I would do one day with Emma and then tomorrow with Josh.

Emma had a blast at Harvest Day....

She danced on the steps, even when no one else was dancing!

She expressed her amazement over the pumpkins!

And when it was all over, she put her leg up and relaxed!

Harvest Day

Our city had a "Harvest Day" today where they had food, pumpkins, tractors and a cow. Since Emma and Josh are huge fans of those things, we decided to go! All of us had fun and Emma and Josh even got to try their first hot pretzel, which they loved. They also liked the DJ playing music and even danced with a bunch of the kids. They also both tried to eat grass right off the ground because, well they saw the cow eating grass of course. I put an end to that pretty quick!

Letting Go 261/365

Josh and Emma have a hard time letting go of one of their old items. I brought home a bassinet/cradle thing from Dan's parents' house to sell at my Mom Club's sale and all Emma and Josh wanted to do was play with it!

Creature of Habit 259 and 260/365

At least once a day, this scenario unfolds at our house:

Josh picks up a book...

...brings it to you...

...says "up" and "read" until you pick him up...

And then he snuggles in...

...and enjoys his book!

Not such a bad habit to have!

Man, I almost didn't get my post in today. I've spent the past two nights preparing for my Twin Mom Club's clothing and toy resale. I am starting to think its not worth it, its taken up so much of my time! Oh well, at least I am done and its all cleared out of my house and stowed into the van.

1. They are talking up a storm and love to repeat words 3 or 4 times when they say them. "Josh, what are you drinking" "Milk, milk, milk, milk"

2. They like TV. I know, I know, I never thought I'd let them watch it but they dance to the songs, do the actions or moves of the characters and point out things that are going on so I am pretending its a learning opportunity. Their newest favorite is "Little Einsteins" on Disney.

1. After much practice, she finally learned to hop. Like both feet, totally off the ground. Its so precious and she looks proud of herself when she does it.

1. He is obsessed with trucks and on the drive home (which is barely 5 minutes) from Dan's parents' house, he points out every truck he can find. He says "Mail" and "Bage" (for garbage) and then a lot of them are just "Dirt" trucks.

Heart 258/365

A heart has somehow appeared on the walkway that is at the side of our house. Emma spotted it first and then her and Josh spent a full 15 minutes checking it out and making sure I knew there was a heart there.

Emma, pointing to the heart

Josh and Emma, checking it out

"The heart" Not sure how it got there but its kinda cool!

Kiss 257/365

Emma is really into kissing just about anything she can get her lips on, including the Riding Bee!

Aunt and Uncle Fun 256/365

Emma and Josh are lucky that my sister Kristin (AKA "Keek" or "Kiki") and her husband Paul (which they both say pretty clear) like to come over and play with them. They always have so much fun!

Game Day 255/365

We are loyal (although its getting hard. Very hard) Browns fans at our house so my parents got Emma and Josh some Browns shirts and we watched the first game today. Too bad the Browns lost!

Emma, intently watching the game

The Babies 254/365

Josh's babies are making their debut on the blog and yes, two of them are without a full set of clothes. I have no idea what goes on in his crib at night!

"I can't believe I dropped all my babies. And where the heck are their clothes?"

"Oh well, just gotta pick them up!"
