Another week has went by! Our office is closed from tomorrow until Tuesday, so I have 4 days off work. Which means I have 4 days to spend with Emma and Josh- makes for a happy mama!

1. I can't believe how many words I hear them saying. I really want to write them all down but I know I will miss some. Its easily over 50 and some of the new ones this week are "cupcake," "robot," and "drum." And they say "more" "please" and "milk" all the time. I would say that Josh talks more than Emma but neither of them are talking all the time yet. Just words here and there.

1. She loves her Fisher Price tea set and carries it around and tries to pour tea for just about everyone including me, Josh, her baby and the big stuffed bear

1. He loves when I pretend to rough him up and tickle him or wrestle with him. He literally squeals with laughter and rolls around.

Cheating 173-183/365

Somehow I am off by 10 days on my 365 Project. I try really, really hard to get a picture a day but sometimes work and other stuff gets in the way. Anyways, today is the last day of June and I would like to end this project at the end of December, so I am cheating. Haha! Enjoy some of my favorite all time pictures of Emma and Josh.

Ads 171 and 172/365

Emma and Josh love to sit at the kitchen table or at their picnic table and look through the mail and ads. So I normally look through the stuff first and pull out what I want and then set them up with it. It keeps them busy for awhile!

Sticks 170/365

I know playing with sticks is dangerous but Josh loves them so if he stands by me, I let him play. Or in this case, chew on the stick!

Boo 169/365

I took some pictures for Emma and Josh's 18 month birthday this weekend. I caught Emma trying to play peek-a-boo with me behind the trees, so precious!

Library Fun 167 and 168/365

We've taken Emma and Josh to the library a couple times and they love it. They pick out their own books and then they get a sticker and stamp on their Summer Reading Game Board. And then there is a area with a table and toys and they love to sit there and hang out

Let me out 166/365

Its not super easy to have Emma and Josh outside by myself so I normally wait until Dan comes home. We have dinner and then head out. Josh is not a huge fan of being inside and I often catch him standing on our couch, staring forlornly out the window.

We are having a nice week here, hope everyone is too!

1. We have started time outs (I will do another post on that this week) by setting up the pack n' play in our bedroom. Josh's biggest offense is being too rough with Emma (biting or pulling hair) and spitting out his milk. Emma's biggest offense is getting into things when I ask her not to (like the glass part of the entertainment center)

2. They are so interactive. If I ask them what a train says, they say "choo, choo." They also can point to their head, hair, ears, nose, mouth, teeth, hands, legs, belly, feet, toes and even their heart.

3. They have started to say "poo" to let me know they have went to the bathroom. Or sometimes they just say it. A lot.

1. She is now trying to say the second syllable of words. Before, milk was just "mil" and "book" was "buh" but now she will say "mil" and then a second later she says "ka."

2. I always talk about how much she loves her baby but its went to a new level. She loves to try to feed her food and she is always giving her some of her sippy cup. And now we have to check her diaper (although she doesn't have a diaper but whatever...) when we are changing diapers to check for poo.

1. He has such a cute sense of humor and thinks a lot of things are really funny. The other day, I told Emma she had stinky feet while holding my noise and saying "pee-uuu" and he could not stop laughing every time I did it. He also kept grabbing his own nose and trying to make the same noise.

2. I have a necklace that is silver and it has two peas in a pod on it. The other day, Josh pointed at it and said "peas" I said "yes, you and Emma are my peas" He looked at me, pointed at Emma and said "pea." I just about died from the cuteness.

Fun with baby 165/365

We bought a slide back in February and Emma and Josh were not really into it. We brought it back upstairs this week and now they love it. They know how to climb up the little rock wall and they easily slide down, laughing the entire time. Emma also like to take her baby up with her. She then drops her down the slide first and goes down after her.

Kisses 164/365

I have mentioned that Emma has become really affectionate. She even gave Dan a kiss for Father's Day!

Cook, peas? 163/365

If you have a cookie, Emma and Josh will beg for it! They say "cook, cook!" and then they know we can resist when they say "peas" (please)

We had a great Father's Day over here! We started the day by heading to church where we met Dan's parents. We enjoyed a nice service and Emma and Josh spent some time in the "Cabbage Patch" (I am not sure how much they enjoyed it though. When we got back, Josh was crying in a playhouse and Emma was sitting next to him, possibly consoling him. Oh well, next time!)

After church, we had Dan's parents over for brunch. I made an awesome breakfast casserole and we enjoyed it on the deck.

When nap time was over, we went to my parent's house and had pizza. Once the rain cleared, Emma and Josh both tried out the pool again and this time, they both loved it.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Eating Good and Messy 161 and 162/365

Some days, Josh and Emma are relatively neat eats. Emma is normally neater but either way, my clean up typically consists of wiping each kid down and then washing off their trays and wiping up the floor. On days like today, however, its a whole other story. I turned my back for a minute and when I turned around, they both had started smashing food and Emma even put it in her hair. It was straight to the bath after dinner!

"Arrr! Here's my food!"

"Why eat when I can play?"

"Should I have not done that?"

18 month day

I was off work yesterday so that I could spend a lot of time with Emma and Josh as they turned 18 months. I don't know what it is about 18 months but it feels like a big milestone to me. Its like they are almost two, officially toddlers and have really become little people. I love this time, even though its not easy. They both have their own opinions and have no problem expressing them. They are learning to explore and they do not like to be interrupted! And they both know how to run away from us but its never in the same direction.

But with all that factored in, I looked at Emma and Josh yesterday and I just fell so much more in love with them. We started the day by going to the library and signing them up for a summer reading game. We will keep track of how often we read to them (which is very often, they love it) and they can get stickers and prizes. I laughed when the librarian suggested signing them up but both Emma and Josh clutched their little board game and selected a few books to read (after they both ran away from me, screaming up and down the aisles...) Later in the day, we went to Target and then the three of us shared a small ice cream cone from McDonalds. I sat in the back seat of the van between them and took turns giving them small spoons. Just a great, great day.

18 months. Wow, that went fast. Can't wait to see what the next 6 months bring!

Pack it up and play 160/365

Josh has started removing all the toys from the Pack N' Play (somehow it became toy storage in our family room) and then playing in it. He first climbs in, then throws everything from it except a few select items and then he happily hangs out for awhile!

So tomorrow I will have two 18 month old toddlers in my house, how the heck did that happen?!

1. When we tell them its time to get into the car, they both say "go, go,go!"

2. They love to brush their teeth and also love to yell "tee, tee" over and over while they are doing it.

3. They are saying a lot more words. I want to write them all down but its easily over 50. Josh's newest word is "grapes" (sounds like bapes) while I've heard Emma say "milk" (she even gets the "k" at the end) Both of them love to say "more," especially when they want more to eat.

1. She has become very affectionate lately, mostly with me and her doll. Oh and Josh. I have even got some kisses and she will often reach over and hug me when we are just sitting there. She is always trying to kiss her doll or kiss Josh, too.

1. Josh tries to be affectionate and he has given me a hug a few times but it will normally end with him trying to yank my hair. Or he will lean over and kiss my arm. Either way, its so cute!
