Pumpkin Carving

We decided that Emma and Josh would probably enjoy pumpkin carving this year.  So we spread out a big blanket on the kitchen floor and hauled the pumpkins inside.  Dan cut open the first pumpkin and both Emma and Josh took one look inside of it and both said "Ewww gross, that stinks!" and refused to help us clean them out.

They were slightly interested in watching Dan carve them and then very interested in trying to pull the completed pumpkins (which I forgot to take a picture of because I was too busy chasing the kids out of the kitchen) off the counter so that they could play with them.

Maybe next year...

More Halloween

More Halloween fun! My parents and grandparents came over along with my sister, Paul and Baby Olivia, who was the cutest pumpkin I have ever seen! We had a fun time feeding Emma and Josh candy and then trying to keep them from smothering Olivia...they really love her!

Halloween Fun Part 1

We are doing a "3 part Halloween Extravaganza" at our house (because apparently we like to torture ourselves  have lots of fun.) We went to a Halloween party at our YMCA last night, my family is coming today to see the kids dressed up and then we will see Dan's family on actual Halloween.

Emma loved the Halloween party and was excited to see all of the costumes. Josh was a lot more apprehensive and started crying when he saw a little boy with a full Hulk costume on. (In his defense, it was kind of creepy!)

I dare you.) they make some really great products for young ones with sensitive skin.  Since we deal with this on a daily basis (I am convinced Josh will have eczema forever, poor boy) I am happy to share info on this  company.

Family Photo Shoot

Since Emma and Josh are almost 3, I thought it would be a good time to get some family photos.   After an hour and a half, this is just about all the photographer was able to get.  Emma and Josh did the following at the photo shoot:

1. Ran from us
2. Rolled in the mud
3. Stuck their fingers in their mouths and noses instead of smiling
4. Basically refused to take a picture most of the time

I was very disappointed but, what can you do? They are kids.  And kids have some kind of keen sixth sense that recognizes when you want something to go well.  They promptly then do everything they can to destroy it.  Still love them though!
