Playground Fun

We met my sister and Olivia at the playground and got to have some fun before the rain started.  Olivia even went on the swing for the first time!

Father's Day

We had a fun filled Father's Day weekend! On Saturday, we went out to dinner with Dan's family (the kids did great!) and on Sunday, we spent the day at my parents' house. The kids were happy to swim and run around and we all enjoyed watching them.

TIDWTFT: The Mall playdate version

I took Emma and Josh to our local mall last night. They have monthly play date events set up with a snack, craft and then story time. Last night, they made a present for Father's Day and then got to visit with Ma and Pa from the Berenstain Bears before the story. Both of them were excited to see the characters but only Emma would stand with them to take a picture.

I took the kids to the mall by myself since Dan was helping his parents and overall, they were good. Emma enjoyed coloring, Josh just wanted to eat his cookies and both went to the bathroom without any problems. The only difficult part is that neither of them want to sit still during the story so they both took turns crawling around to find a new seat. I hope they learn to just sit and relax once in awhile once they are in school!

Lowe's Build and Grow

We went to our first Lowe's Build & Grow event and the kids got to make the characters Scully and Mike from the movie Monsters Inc.   The activity was recommended for ages 5 and up but I think it would have been difficult even for that age.  They had to hammer small nails into the pieces to make the characters which means Dan and I did most of the work.  We will likely try another one of these events but maybe wait until Emma and Josh are a little older.

TIDWTFT: The Butterfly Version

One of my fellow bloggers posted about Insect Lore,  where you can purchase caterpillars and watch them change into butterflies.  Emma and Josh love that kind of stuff so I purchased a kit and over the past week, we have been turning some caterpillars into chrysalides and are patiently  anxiously awaiting them to turn into butterflies.  Any day now, Any day.

Emma, waiting for me to open the caterpillars

Josh- a little excited, don't ya think?
