TIDWTFT

When I was looking through pictures from this week, I noticed a theme. Almost all of my pictures were Emma and Josh, together. At this point in their life, they are each others playmate, best friend and constant companion. They have started to argue more about toys and tattle on one another over various things but at the end of the day, they stay up talking in bed for an hour until I threaten to take away a toy or shut their door.

I know that their relationship will always be changing. We took them for a tour of their preschool this week and while we were there, Emma ran in one direction and Josh hung back. I know that their relationship won't always be how it is right now. So I want to try to remember as much of it as I can!

TIDWTFT

We've had a nice week at our house. We celebrated my mom's birthday over the weekend and the kids have enjoyed extra time with Dan as he has some extra days off of work.

Emma:

1. She is clearly the one in charge between her and Josh.   I have caught her giving orders to Josh a lot this week but he seems to like to follow along...for now.

Josh:

1.  I mentioned to him that we are going to the library and he got really excited and started naming off all the books on trucks that he wants to take out.

Both:

1. They have discovered the show "Team Umizoomi" on NickJr and they love it.  They call one another Milli and Geo (and insist that we do the same) and race around in their Umizoomi cars.  Its cute to watch.

2. They like picking out their own breakfast in the morning.  Emma normally picks cereal (cheerios or rice crispies) and Josh has been selecting cinnamon toast for a long time.

Emma:

My grandparents brought her change for Valentine's Day and she loved putting it in her bank

1. She stood on one leg the other day and told me "Look, mom, I'm a flamingo!"

2. She was standing at the top of the stairs and told me she was scared to come down.  I told her "Emma, just walk down, you don't have to be afraid" and she said "I'm not afraid of walking.  I am afraid of falling!"  So clever

Josh:

1. He has recently started to talk about doing "bad guy things" and told me "I am going to take this and hide it like a bad guy!"  He is normally so sweet but his "bad guy" persona has been coming out every one in awhile.

2. He had a runny nose this week and continually asked for a Kleenex so that he could put it in front of his face and noisily pretend to blow his nose.

First Dentist Trip

We took Emma and Josh for their first dentist visit today. Josh didn't do so good. He sat in the chair but that was about it. Once she reclined it, he started to get nervous and when she started to count his teeth, he began crying. We tried to get him calmed down but he wasn't having it!

Emma did a lot better. She sat in their chair, wore the sunglasses, opened her mouth and let them count and clean her teeth. I guess 1 out of 2 isn't so bad!

Days of Fun

I have been off of work the past couple days which means I am trying to keep Emma and Josh occupied in the house since it won't stop snowing and its freezing out. We have done a lot of stuff including building a huge fort in the family room, watching movies with popcorn and doing some crafts. I took pictures of some of our projects below:

Pre Birthday Celebration

My birthday is Monday so we celebrated today at my grandparents' house with cake. It was nice to be together for a short time and Emma and Josh loved the cake, as usual! I also got to snuggle with Olivia, so that made me happy.
